User manual
Everything Timline does, section by section. To get going quickly, the getting started guide is enough; this manual is for when you are looking for a specific setting.
First steps
Create an account
On the sign-up page, pick your sport, enter your club's name, then continue with Google or an email address. With an email address, a confirmation link is sent to you: it activates your account.
Finding your way
The bottom bar has four tabs: Home (your week and the next match), Club (your visuals, fixtures and data), Calendar and Account. The “+” in the middle creates what you need wherever you are. On a computer, the same sections sit at the top of the screen.
Securing access
In Account, you can turn on two-factor authentication by email. Recovery codes are shown when you turn it on: keep them, they get you back in if you lose access to your inbox.
Your club
One club, one place
The Club tab brings together three views: Visuals, Fixtures and Data. Data opens on a summary: players, teams, sponsors, competitions, categories.
Players
First name, last name, number, position, photo. The photo can be cut out (see below); both versions stay available in your visuals.
Teams and opponents
Each team has a crest and colours that dress your visuals automatically. Opponents are set once and reused for every following match.
Sponsors and categories
Sponsors have a logo and a tier, which sets their order in your visuals. Categories (first team, U15…) filter players and fixtures.
Importing
From a list's ⋯ menu: a CSV or Excel file, or a simple copy and paste. Timline recognises the columns and shows you the result before saving.
Fixtures and calendar
The club calendar
In Calendar, “Connect my calendar” takes the iCal subscription link from your club app (SportEasy, Google Calendar…). Fixtures arrive and stay up to date on their own. Only the date, time, venue and teams are imported.
Adding a match by hand
With the “+”: opponent, date, venue. The match appears in Club and in the Calendar.
The team sheet
Paste the line-up the way you received it (message, spreadsheet, screenshot): Timline recognises your players and places the numbers. The match visuals fill themselves in.
During and after the match
The live view of the match records goals, the clock and substitutions; at the end, the score and result flow into your visuals. You can also enter the score straight from the match.
Templates and visuals
Suggested templates
For each match, Timline suggests templates already filled with your data. The Library sorts every template by moment of the match: announcement, line-up, half-time, result, recap.
The weekend pack
The visuals for every match of the weekend, gathered on one page: what is ready, what is missing, what has already been exported.
Auto planning
Choose which visuals to prepare for each match and when. Timline prepares them ahead of time and lets you know when they are ready to go.
Your own templates
Any visual can be saved as a template and reused for every match, with your colours, fonts and sponsors.
Editing a visual
Quick edit
By default, a visual opens in quick edit: tap an element to change the text, photo, player or team. It is the fastest way to finish a match visual.
Full editor
To rework everything (shapes, layers, effects, textures), open the full editor. On a computer, settings are in the right-hand panel; on touch, in the bottom bar: Layers, Style, “+”, Content, More.
Three synced formats
Post, story and banner live in the same visual. A data change carries over to all three; a layout tweak stays specific to its format.
Undo
Undo and redo sit at the top of the editor (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z on a keyboard). The visual saves itself.
Photos and cut-outs
Cutting out a player
On a player's page, “Cut out” removes the photo's background. The work happens on your device: the photo is not sent to any outside service.
Several photos at once
From the player list, you can cut out every photo that hasn't been done yet.
Inside a visual
Select an image in the full editor and remove its background from its settings. The result keeps the image's position and size.
Export
Formats
“Export” produces the chosen formats at once, as PNG or JPG: post 1080 × 1080, story 1080 × 1920, banner 1920 × 1080.
High definition and transparency
HD export, transparent-background PNG and watermark-free visuals are included in paid plans. On Free, exports carry a watermark.
On iPhone
Visuals go straight to Photos or the share sheet, so you can post them without a computer.
Account and subscription
Profile and preferences
In Account: your name, your photo, the language (French, English, Spanish), light or dark theme and the app's accent colour.
Subscription
The Subscription section opens the billing portal: invoices, payment method, plan change, cancellation. Your club can also pay for you through a payment link.
Working together
On the Team plan, up to five people share the same workspace. A project can also be shared read-only with someone else.
Your data
You can request an export of all your data or delete your account from Account. Deletion is confirmed by email and permanently erases your clubs, visuals and data.
